A portrait is a very professional statement. Its about you and should capture your essential character. Think about the clothes you will wear and personalise your images with your own props and accessories. Plain shirts, jeans or chinos look good. Try to avoid clashing colours and patterns.
Co-ordinate is the ‘key’ word, co-ordinate your colours with each other and the room where your finished portrait is to hang.
Dark Backgrounds
Mid-toned and darker decorated rooms look good with darker clothing photographed against grey, toffee or dramatic black backgrounds. Long sleeves and longer tops that are the same colour as your bottoms, make you look sleeker and more slimming.
